Welcome back to all Holy Trinity High students and an especially warm welcome back to all my dedicated art students! If we can open up ourselves to the possibilities, this year promises to be creative and inspiring. I'm looking forward to working with all of you and to see what amazing pieces you will create!

Congratulations to our Holy Trinity High Poster Winners. Julianne Meaney (3rd), Kelsey Menard (2nd) and Sarah Butler (1st) were presented awards from the Royal Canadian Legion for their winning poster entries. Wonderful job girls!

Just a reminder

Hello students and welcome back from our extended Christmas break! Just a reminder that art 2200 and 3200 sketchbook due dates are fast approaching, and with exams coming up you don't want to let the work pile up! I will be looking for your next 10 sketches in February....an exact date to be announced.


These are our current projects:
Art 2200 - Narrative Drawing (bring in those quotes, poems, stories or song lyrics!)
Art 3200 - Value Scale Drawing (How will you incorporate a value scale into a creative drawing?)
Art 7 - Object drawing (We will begin this once you do your value scale exercises)
Art 8 - Grid Drawings ( A technical project to help with getting proportions and added dimension)

ARTS AND LETTERS COMPETITION

Poster Contest

 

The Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador is looking for your Poster designs about Heritage places in your community. Visit www.heritagefoundation.ca for full details and application forms, or come and see Ms. Channing.

Festive Fall Gala

 

Our bi-annual fundraiser is taking place on Saturday, November 2, 2013. We already have many interesting donations such as a basket from Wanda Cooper Salon valued at $1000, a 7 day stay at a 4 bedroom home(with pool and hot tub) in Kissimmee, Orlando, a skidoo trip, cod-fishing trip and cook-up, and many others. 

We are seeking your support in any capacity: donating an item, volunteering an hour of your time, purchasing a ticket, etc.  We look forward to your anticipated involvement, Call 437-5563 to reserve your ticket or drop by the school.

ART CLUB

Art Club will take place every Day 5 and 12 at lunch in the Art Room. All grades are invited to bring their lunch and come and take part. So, if you love art or are feeling creative come and see what Art Club is all about!
