So You Want to Be an Artist?

So You Want to Be an Artist contest offers aspiring artists aged 16 to 19 across Canada the chance to have their artwork showcased in the national spotlight.

Youth from across Canada are invited to submit a picture of their artwork and an artist statement to the contest website. This will be followed by a voting phase to determine the top 12 finalists. Finalists will have their artwork displayed at the National Gallery of Canada where a panel of judges will choose three winners!

Art Club Reminder

Just a friendly reminder that Art Club takes place every Day 5/12 in the Art Room at lunch. Open to both senior and junior high students and of course, new members are always welcome!

Next week (Friday, February 8th) Ms. Hickey will give a demo on glass beaded jewelry making.....a great chance to make a gift for that special someone for Valentine's day!

ARTS AND LETTERS COMPETITION

Anti-Litter Calendar Contest


  

The Canadian Plastics Industry Association is looking for as many entries as possible that promote a strong anti-littering message to help convince other students not to litter. The contest is open to students from kindergarten to grade eight. Each submission will be judged according to:
  • effectiveness in promoting an anti-litter message
  • creativity and
  • the age of the artist

Art Club

This meeting will be to see how many students are interested in taking part in a regular lunch time art club.
